Christie (Kutae) was born and raised in Kaitaia then heading off to study nursing.

She is a Paediatric nurse at Starship Hospital and mother of Naia. She returns home regularly to help with 4th Gen kaupapa. She also spends time at Auckland Museum supporting Ngati Kuri Kaupapa and being a link to the 4 th Gen work. Christie has spent time in Tahiti and Mooerea to connect with Coral Gardeners and Ocean restoration work linked to blue economies. She is currently taking up the challenge to be a Sea Bird intern and learn more about our ocean birds and their needs. Next year Christie will be a part of leading out the marine based BioBlitz with James in Ngati Kuri rohe.
