Enhance engagement in research and development across our tribal region.

  • Develop new proposals and contracts aligning to the strategic flight path. At least 2 new research projects per year.
  • Develop a clear communications plan for the next 3 years. 
  • Host 1 iwi wānanga per year on the whenua create opportunities to enhance the Ngāti Kuri BioBlitz programme with Rangatahi
  • Connect with local, iwi, hapū, and Māori community and collaborate on new research projects where appropriate.

Improve access to research with clear transformative pathways.

  • Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with professional associations, industry, and international affiliates.
  • Profile and communicate research success stories.
  • Maintain up to date online communications platforms including Mailchimp, Facebook and Youtube.
  • Establish a new website and online resource hub for Rangatahi and tribal members.
  • Create dynamic and interesting content relatable to whānau including short digital pūrākau, vignettes, and research storyboards.
  • Develop an online webinar series and link to WAI262 engagement
  • Host 1 research symposium (year 3)

Advance our engagement with wider research and science networks both nationally and internationally.

  • Develop a portfolio of action that aims to grow commercial engagement, external revenue, and funding opportunities.
  • Develop at least 1 new mātauranga Māori/Māori science project.
  • Engage in projects with other iwi and Māori organisations.
  • Actively promote the Centre in a range of events and activities and participate in a range of research hui throughout the year. This includes presentations and publications.
  • Build on the work of Taiatea and increase international connections online and in-person through wānanga, cross-cultural exchanges and webinars that align to the Centre’s research themes.
