The Research Center will advocate for, and advance the aspirations of the Ngāti Kuri ‘4th Gen Group’. This is a group of rangatahi from Ngāti Kuri that work on collaborative projects which “help us to understand what we need to protect, restore and revitalise – our land, sky and oceans.
As the fourth generation, we are the keepers of our ancestral fires, we have led Mātauranga and Science Expeditions to our outer island Manawatāwhi (Three Kings), Rangitāhua Kermadec Islands and remote places of where we have been prevented from accessing for 4 generations.”
